Jason was born in New Orleans and raised among the rich, cultural diversity Louisiana expresses through art, music, food, and local traditions. He started his fine arts training with an emerging artist scholarship at LSU and graduated from the College of Charleston, nestled in the historically significant town known for its periodic architecture, iconic homes and churches, and stunning natural beauty. In addition to working as a graphic designer in Boston and Honolulu, Jason has worked with local businesses including Hines Studios, Lucky Boy Art, Dixie Dunbar Designs, and Billy Joe Homewares. He has more than 20 years of experience as a glazier, working with handblown and restoration glass, antiquing mirrors, hand-painting signs, and reverse-painting mirrors, and creating original pieces of art and sculpture. He lives in Charleston with his wife and daughters.
Vlad is from Ukraine, but because of the war, he and his lovely wife moved to Charleston in 2022. "From the first day, I fell in love with this beautiful, historic city. Charleston reminds me of a cozy European town; the climate, palm trees, and architecture create an unforgettable atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, I started to study the city's history and culture and to take photographs of the people and architecture."
Vlad enjoys being on-site, working on Charleston's historic buildings and houses, and interacting with the owners, fellow craftsman, and other crew. He's quickly learning the skills of historic preservation and the lost art of glazing. He and his wife create YouTube videos to share their pursuit of the American dream with their countryman.
Jason's wife, Debbie, and their two daughters help when and how they can. But, the daughters are teenagers now so, they don't help much!
